Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for administering the affairs of local self-government institutions under the Panchayati Raj system. In the case of a Gram Panchayat, it serves as the principal governing body that implements the decisions of the Gram Sabha and manages the day-to-day administration of the village.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat.
